Dr. Ye Yin, Academic Editor of Nature Sustainability, Shares Tips of Publishing with Nature Journals at the 696th Environmental Academic Forum

On the morning of November 24, the School of Environment hosted the 696th Academic Forum in the school auditorium. Dr. Ye Yin, the academic editor of the journal Nature Sustainability, was invited to present a seminar entitled “Publishing with Nature Journals”. The event was moderated by Professor Xu Ming, Associate Dean of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University.

Dr. Ye Yin began with a brief overview of the Nature journal series, highlighting the mission of Nature Sustainability and the research areas it focuses on. He then delved into the essentials of writing high-quality research papers, including the novelty and significance of topic selection, the clarity and rationality of article structure, as well as writing techniques for the introduction and discussion sections. In addition, Dr. Ye shared insights from an editorial perspective on the peer-review process of the Nature journal series and the principles for responding to review comments.

During the Q&A session, Dr. Ye Yin engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions with the attending faculty members and students on a range of topics. These included writing advice for interdisciplinary research, the submission process for papers, considerations for editorial rejections, and social science research in the field of environmental science. The event concluded amidst warm applause, and participants expressed that they greatly benefited from the valuable insights and information shared.
