The opening ceremony of the Tsinghua-Veolia Environment and Urban Management Advanced Program (EUMAP) 2012 was held in SIEEB on September 21.

Professor Du Pengfei, the Secretary of SOE Committee of CPC, Mr. Lu Xiaojun, the Deputy Director of the Overseas Management Office of Scientific R&D of Tsinghua University, Ms. Zhang Hong, Veolia Environmental Services Asia Vice President of Communication and Public Relations, and Ms. Chen Jieying, CFO of Veolia Environment Asia, were present and delivered speeches respectively. Also in attendance at the opening ceremony were 14 trainees from the local government, municipal, environmental and media enterprises.

Professor Du Pengfei introduced in his speech that early before the EUMAP, based on the common sense of social responsibility, the SOE and Veolia Environment had cooperation on the training in environment and sustainable urban development. After a decade of work, nearly 100 environmental protection and urban construction officials from more than 30 provinces and cities around China have participated in the training. The first EUMAP began in 2009 and this is the fourth one.
