The welcome meeting for the freshmen Party members of Tsinghua University SOE was held in the SIEEB on August 14.

    Of those who attended included Vice Secretary of SOE’s CPC Committee Liu Jianguo, group leader of undergraduate affairs Liu Yanchen, as well as outstanding party members from the senior grades and new party members from this year’s freshman class. During the meeting Liu Jianguo warmly welcomed the new members of SOE’s CPC committee. They were the first newly arrived party members of Tsinghua since it has entered new century of history and also new students after the establishment of the SOE. He said party members of freshmen class they should recognize that they have two forms of identity: first identity, as a freshman they should be active in making friends and integrating into the rest of the student body. Second identity, as a party member they should be stricter with themselves than other freshmen and so serve as model students and leaders. In addition, some common issues which freshmen party members were concerned about were also brought up and discussed.
