The 238th Graduate Academic Salon & the 59th Environment Academic Salon invited Professor Wang Yi of SOE to give a lecture on nuclear waste and environmental protection on April 14 at SIEEB.

    Wang first introduced the nuclear power planning and some existing nuclear power plants in China, and illustrated the principles of nuclear fi ssion and classifi cation of nuclear reactors. Then he explained that all the major nuclear accidents in history, including the recent one in Fukushima of Japan, were caused by human errors, whereas nuclear technology is safe. Wang also introduced the history and current situation of the personnel training of nuclear technology, and expressed his hopes for greater progress in personnel training.
