Mark your calendars for November 7, 2024, for the 3rd International Outstanding Young Scholars Environment Forum. Hosted by Tsinghua University, this year's forum will spotlight a diverse array of renowned and emerging environmental scholars. They will present groundbreaking research, foster engaging discussions, and compete for the prestigious "International Outstanding Young Environmental Scholar" award, all in the spirit of driving sustainable progress.
The International Outstanding Young Scholars Environment Forum was hosted by the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, and co-organized by the Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science, Chinese-European Society for Environment, Ecology & Sustainability (CESEES), Institute for Carbon Neutrality of Tsinghua University, the Youth Scientists Branch of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and the journal Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering. We invited the leading experts, renowned scholars, and outstanding young talents around the globe to exchange ideas on hot topics on environment, and to stimulate the cross-region collaboration and the sustainable development of environmental science and engineering.

Doctoral degree in environmental or related fields, and postdoctoral or scientific research experience in world-class universities or globally renowned research institutions.

9. Introduction to Organizing Institutions
School of Environment , Tsinghua University
The discipline of environmental engineering at Tsinghua University can be traced back to the Department of Municipal Engineering established in 1928 under the former National Tsinghua University. In 1977, the first undergraduate program of Environmental Engineering in China was established at Tsinghua University. In 1984, the Department of Environmental Engineering was approved by Tsinghua University to be an independent department, and it evolved into the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering in 1997. In 2011, it finally developed into the School of Environment.
By the unremitting practices and endeavors of generations of SOE people, it has become a world-class talent training base and a high-level scientific research center in the field of environment. It was rated A+ in the discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering in 2017 and 2022 and has been ranked among the top 10 in the QS World University Rankings by the Subject of Environmental Sciences for four consecutive years. Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science
CAPEES was established in 2007 by a group of pioneering and visionary Chinese American professors. There have been 15 CAPEES presidents and their officer teams who contributed significantly to the growth of CAPEES’s impact. Under these vibrant presidency leaderships, CAPEES has become the first and the largest academic association of Chinese environmental engineering and science scholars in North America. In 2018, CAPEES was officially listed as a federal and state registered nonprofit organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c) (3). After more than a decade of development, CAPEES garners over 200 faculty and student members from North America and the rest of the world.

Chinese-European Society for Environment, Ecology & Sustainability (CESEES)
The Chinese-European Society for Environment, Ecology & Sustainability (CESEES) is a non-governmental organization established to facilitate exchanges among Chinese scholars in Europe or those who have travelled to Europe in the fields of environment, ecology, and sustainable development. The primary goal of CESEES is to enhance discussions and academic exchanges among Chinese scholars, serve as a bridge for academic interactions between China and Europe, and provide a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration for researchers and professionals in the fields of environment, ecology, and sustainable development.

Institute for Carbon Neutrality, Tsinghua University
The Institute for Carbon Neutrality, Tsinghua University (ICON) was established on September 22, 2021 as a global research institute advancing the achievement of carbon neutrality. It aims to facilitate technology innovations, applications and decision-making related to carbon neutrality through high-quality multidisciplinary research within the university, as well as through vibrant collaborations with national, regional, and local public and private partners.

Young Scientists Branch of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES)
Young Scientists Branch of CSES a high-level organization composed of young environmental scientists with great influence in China. The Branch aims to support young scientists and stimulate their innovation capacity. It makes full use of the intellectual resources, academic platforms, and international exchange platforms of CSES in organizing high-level academic exchanges, promoting industry-university-research integration and strengthening international cooperation. These measures aim to get prepared for cultivating leading talents and an innovative team in China's environmental field.

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering
Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering (FESE) is an internationally peer-reviewed monthly journal that aims to advance and disseminate knowledge in a wide range of environmental disciplines, and to promotes interchange of ideas between environmental scientists and engineers around the world. It is co-sponsored by the Higher Education Press, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Tsinghua University, co-published by Springer. The current Editors-in-Chief are Jiuhui Qu at Tsinghua University and John Crittenden at Georgia University of Technology. The journal has been indexed by SCI, EI, INSPEC, EMBiology, SCOPUS, and CSCD core library, with a latest impact factor of 6.048. FESE is one of the transactions of Chinese Academy of Engineering and is selected as a key journal of the Project for Outstanding Chinese Scientific Journals.
