On the afternoon of August 6th, Professor Jasper Knoester, Pro Rector of Leiden University and Dean of the Faculty of Science, along with Professor Arnold Tukker, Distinguished Professor of Sustainable Development at Leiden University, and their delegation visited the School of Environment (SOE), Tsinghua University. The visitors were received by Professor Xu Ming, SOE Associate Dean, Associate Professor Zhang Xiaoyuan, SOE Assistant Dean, Researcher Tian Jinping, Director of the Division of Environmental Ecology at SOE, Associate Researcher Zeng Xianlai, and Associate Researcher Wang Chunyan. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on talent development and research collaboration.

Xu Ming welcomed Jasper Knoester and his delegation and gave an overview of SOE, including its disciplinary development and international collaborations. He emphasized that SOE has close academic ties with the Institute of Environmental Sciences at Leiden University, particularly in the fields of industrial ecology and environmental sustainability. He expressed the importance of further strengthening institution-level research collaboration and exchanges in the future, gradually expanding cooperation in talent development, and continuing to contribute to global sustainable development.

He noted that the main research areas of CML align closely with those of School of Environment. He suggested that future efforts should focus on strengthening collaboration, using research partnerships to foster academic exchanges and visits, and advancing joint student programs.
