12 SOE Faculty Members Named as Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” by Elsevier in 2023

On March 27, 2024, Elsevier officially released its 2023 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list. Twelve professors at Tsinghua School of Environment (SOE), Deng Shubo, Hao Jiming, He Kebin, Hou Deyi, Hu Hongying, Huang Xia, Li Jinhui, Li Junhua, Liu Huijuan, Qu Jiuhui, Wang Shuxiao, and Wang Yujue (in alphabetical order by surname), have been selected into the list of highly cited researchers in Environmental Science and Engineering discipline.

The 2023 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list uses citation data from Scopus as the statistical source for Chinese scholars’ research achievements, employing a methodology developed by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. In the 2023 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list, a total of 5,801 individuals were included, representing 496 universities, enterprises, and research institutions. The list covers 10 academic fields and 84 first-level disciplines recognized by the Ministry of Education. Within the Environmental Science and Engineering discipline, 163 researchers were selected.

This marks the tenth release of “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list since its inaugural publication in 2015 by Elsevier. The list has garnered significant attention from both domestic and international media outlets and scholars.
