Prof. Nigel Gilbert from the University of Surrey attended the 46th Environmental Forum and delivered a speech on June 21 entitled, “Evolution and Resilience of Industrial Ecosystems, ERIE”.

During his lecture, Prof. Gilbert briefly described ERIE as a social economic emulation platform based on a computable model for testing the real policy making of policy-makers. He also cited two cases of ERIE, one used in the industrial ecosystem evaluation in Humber, UK, and another applied on food safety and global sustainability according to the food supply.

Prof. Shi Lei from SOE presided over the forum. Around 30 faculty members and students were present.
