Dissertation defenses of SOE graduates in 2012 were held on June 13.

A total number of 96 undergraduates attended the defense and was divided into 4 groups, including 4 international students, 1 student in Grade 2007 and 1 student from department of biology. Prof. Huang Xia, Prof. Li Guanghe, Prof. Wang Chengwen and Prof. Duan Lei chaired each group, respectively. Over 40 teachers including the Vice Dean of SOE ZuoJian’e presented the defense as judges.

The research fields of undergraduates of 2012 covered areas of water, gas and waste treatment, environmental policy, environmental planning and design, etc.

Defense of master graduates in 2012 was also held in SIEEB from May 31 to June 1. Totally 73 master graduates were divided into 7 groups, where Prof. Liu Xiang, Prof. Wang Hongtao, Prof. Liu Yi, Prof. Jiang Jianguo, Prof. Zhang Xiaojian and Prof. ZuoJian’e chaired the Defense Committee, respectively, along with 53 teachers who joined the defense.

Among these master graduates, there were 56 students of environmental science and engineering, 8 students with degrees in civil engineering, 9 students with masters of engineering in realm of environmental engineering and 7 international students.
