Zhou Jianpeng, who was enrolled in SOE in 1981, has recently been appointed as the Dean of Department of Civil Engineering (DCE), Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).

Zhou Jianpeng received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree in Department of Environment Engineering, THU, in 1986 and 1989 respectively. He went to Canada in 1991 and had once worked for two famous environmental companies in Canada for a few years, during which he received Ph.D. in environmental engineering, University of British Columbia, registered professional engineer in environmental engineering, Province of British Columbia, Canada, Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Civil Engineering, State of Washington, USA, and Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE), Certified Specialist in Water Supply and Wastewater, American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He has begun his work in SIUE since 2002 and now becomes Associate Professor with tenure, SIUE, major in research areas of wastewater treatment and sewage sludge disposal. He is also the president of Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science, USA, Visiting Professor of SOE and Senior consultant of Shandong Provincial Environment Project, the World Bank. He has supported work of Tsinghua Alumni Association - Saint Louis for many years and facilitated the development of Tsinghua Overseas Alumni Associations.
