Material flow analysis (MFA) is a method for quantitatively analyzing and evaluating material and energy input, transfer, transformation, and output of a system (product system, economic system, social system, etc.). MFA is an important basis for revealing environmental pollution, resource circulation and industrial production, and it is also an important thought and an indispensable tool for graduate students to carry out scientific research. Through this course, students can understand the basic function of MFA in environmental science and engineering, recycle economy, clean production, etc., master the design of material flow analysis method and uncertainty analysis, and be familiar with using MFA software to solve the problems in environmental research field, enhancing their abilities to systematically analyze problems and solve practical problems. Students will master the idea, framework and application of MFA through lectures, and will be able to solve practical problems skillfully through discussion.
