Nie Yongfeng started working at the Division of Solid Waste Management within the Department of Environmental Engineering, engaging in research and development of environmental pollution control and environmental protection equipment technology, including municipal solid waste, industrial solid wste, hazardous waste and radioactive waste treatment, disposal and utilization technology and groundwater pollution control theory and technology. He retired as a professor in 2011.
