Shen Yingpeng started working at Tsinghua University in 1959 after graduating from the same university. He worked at the Division of Water Supply and Drainage within the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Environmental Engineering successively, where his research focus was sewage treatment, ozone water treatment and equipment development. He later was transferred to the Department of Technology Development to carry out the promotion and application of environmental protection technology. He retired as a senior engineer in 1995.
