Li Guanghe was employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Environmental Engineering in 1993 and later became associate professor and professor. He engaged in research on environmental risk assessment and remediation of polluted sites, characterization of ecotoxicity of polluted sites, theory and technology of biological control of water pollution, and inferior groundwater purification technology. He retired as a professor in 2024.
