SOE, Tsinghua Nov 19, 2015 (Gao Xiaojuan) Thomas CHRISTENSEN, Head of Department of Environmental Engineering at Technical University of Denmark, was recruited as Excellent Visiting Professor by Tsinghua University on November 11th. Dean of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University HE Kebin presented the letter of appointment to Professor CHRISTENSEN on a ceremony held at the School of Environment.

Professor CHRISTENSEN is a world renowned scholar in waste technology and management and member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences. His recent research involves use of life cycle assessment tools and focus on holistic management of waste management systems with emphasis on waste technologies. He is also the Co-founder and Associate Editor of the international journal Waste Management & Research.

Professor CHRISTENSEN started academic exchanges with faculty at Tsinghua as early as 2004.They also created opportunities for SOE graduate students to have exchanges at his research lab at DTU. From 2011, he began to make regularly annual visit to SOE forjointly advising graduate students and delivering the course of Holistic Management of Solid Waste Management, which has reached about 150 students by now.
