Dr. Kim Howells, British Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education, visited Tsinghua on February 21. Tsinghua Vice President Xie Weihe, met and talked with Dr. Howells.
After the talk, Dr. Howells made a speech on lifelong education and internationalization of education. He stressed the importance of education in modern economics and modern societies, holding that ways could be find to solve some problems such as global warming through university communications and research.
Dr. Howells also visited China Education and Research Network (CERNET).
