China 's Top Ten Youngsters came to Tsinghua and shared their experiences and ideas with Tsinghua students on January 14. The free talk, held in the main building, attracts more than 400 Tsinghua students and teachers. Prof. Yang Zhenbin, who is in charge of the students affairs, extended warm welcome to the outstanding youngsters.
After the talk, representatives of Tsinghua students presented gifts to the outstanding youngsters.
The Top Ten Youngsters include ten outstanding young people representing various fields of art, national defense, science, and business, such as Liu Xiang, the Chinese Olympic Champion who won the 110 m hurdle gold medal at the Athens Olympics; Pan Jianwei, professor of the Science and Technology University of China who has gained several creative achievements in the quantum information field; Peng Jiapeng, chief conductor of the Chinese National Orchestra of China Broadcasting Arts Troupe who helped to gain a place for China's national music on the world stage.
