Prof. Leonid. I. Abalkin, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Science and head of the academy’s Institute of Economics, was named an honorary professor of Tsinghua University on September 1.

A renowned economist and educator in Russia, Professor Abalkin became an academician of the Russian Academy of Science in 1987.
