Mr. Zhao Qizheng, director of the News Office of the State Council, delivered a speech on “Creating a favorable international consensus environment for China” to more than 250 Tsinghua students and faculty members on May 13.

Zhao’s speech was divided into three parts, concerning the importance of the international consensus environment, the place of China in the international consensus environment and the reinforcement of the world-wide propaganda for China, respectively.

“The propaganda for China in the global scale is a great mission for the development of China.” He said, “As an indispensable part of the comprehensive national strength, it serves for the achievement of the nation’s strategy and goal in the new century and new era.”

After that, Zhao answered the students’ questions, and expressed his sincere expectations for the future journalists of the students in the School of Journalism. Mr. Zhang Zaixing, vice-secretary of the University Council, hosted the speech and Mr. Chen Xi, Secretary of the University Council and other university leaders were present at the speech.
