Tsinghua Team Crowned Champions in SC19
With the finals of the Student Cluster Competition (SC19) coming to an end at the Colorado Convention Center on the afternoon of November 21st (MST), a team of students organized by the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, stood out as the champions. It was the twelfth championship won by Tsinghua University in the three major international student supercomputer challenges (ASC, ISC and SC).
The participants for the finals consisted of 16 teams of students from seven countries. The student team participating in the finals on behalf of Tsinghua University was comprised of six undergraduate students from the Department of Computer Science and Technology. Associate Professor Zhai Jidong and Assistant Research Fellow Han Wentao from the department acted as their academic advisors.
The Supercomputing Conference (SC in short) is an international premier meeting in the field of supercomputing. As an integral part of this meeting, the Student Cluster Competition is an annual high-end competition in the field, which attracts the participation of institutions of higher learning around the world.
