School of Social Sciences Opened

A ceremony was held in the main building to honor the establishment of the School of Social Sciences, on October 27th. Former Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Xu Kuangdi, Tsinghua University President Chen Jining, Tsinghua University Council Chairman Hu Heping, and Tsinghua Vice President Xie Weihe attended the ceremony.

In order to further promote the development of the humanities and social sciences, Tsinghua has decided to establish two separate schools based on the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School of Humanities was opened last week.
