Concert by the China National Orchestra to Celebrate Teacher’s Day
A concert by the China National Orchestra was held on September 7th at Tsinghua University to commemorate Teachers’ Day (September 10th). Tsinghua University Council Chairman Hu Heping attended the concert, extending his best wishes to all the Tsinghua faculty and staff.
The national group presented traditional music from China, including Moon Over Fountain, The Dance of Yao, and Blooming Flowers and Full Moon.
Founded in Beijing in 1960, the China National Orchestra, the largest and most integral folk music artistic group in China, is the leading national traditional music ensemble. It is composed of a large traditional instrument orchestra and folk chorus. It possesses a number of artists with distinguished accomplishments both at home and abroad.
