Closing Ceremony Held for 2nd World University Shooting Championship

The four-day World University Shooting Championship came to a close October 11 with a formal ceremony Saturday evening in the Tsinghua Auditorium for the athletes, coaches, officials and guests from many international universities. The performances which went along with the closing ceremony were warmly welcomed by the audience.

Chair of CT Ms. Ivana Ertlova, CM Member Dr. Koing-bo Kwun, International Shooting Sport Federation Representative Mr. Li Youjia, Secretary General of the China University Sports Federation and Executive Presidents of the WUSC Organizing Committee Mr. Yang Liguo, Vice President of China University Sports Federation and Vice President of the WUSC Organizing Committee Mr. Xue Yanqing, Vice Director of the Shooting and Archery Administrative Center Mr. Zeng Zhigang, Vice President of Tsinghua and Executive President of the WUSC Organizing Committee Chen Xu, and Vice Chairman of the Tsinghua University Council Shi Zongkai attended the closing ceremony.

The Championship competition produced 28 gold medals and 81 total medals. China won twelve gold medals, two silver medals, and eight bronze medals, ranking first in the medal tally in both gold medals and the total medals. Of the six Tsinghua students competing in the Shooting Championship, five won gold medals for China. Liu Tianyou, Cao Yifei and Luo Yulin won the team gold in the 10m air rifle men’s final. Zhao Yinghui won a gold medal in the 10m air rifle women’s final. Zhao Yinghui and Liao Sha also won the team gold medal in the 10m air rifle women’s final.
