Mr. Stephen L. Johnson, administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, visited Tsinghua and delivered a speech on U.S.-China Environmental Cooperation on April 11.
Tsinghua Vice President Xie Weihe met and had a talk with Mr. Johnson, exchanging ideas on cooperation in environmental protection.
During his speech, Mr. Johnson stressed the importance of U.S.-China environmental cooperation.
“By sharing our knowledge and working together, America and China will add to the purity of our global environment, while reaping the reward of increased economic growth,” he said.
Stephen L. Johnson was sworn in as the 11th Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on May 2, 2005.
