Ten research achievements of Tsinghua won 2004 State Science and Technology Awards recently.
Tsinghua professors Zheng Quanshui, Zhang Yaoxue, Huang Yong, Guo Zengyuan, Pei Jing, and Nie Jianguo accepted the awards at a ceremony in the Great Hall of the People on March 28.
Of the ten awards received by Tsinghua, there was one second prize of the State Natural Science Award; three second prizes of the State Technological Invention Award; and six second prizes of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
The subjects of the prize-winning research include: theory of representations for tensor functions and invariance research on constitutive equation of materials; novel colloidal forming of ceramics; SOPCA network architecture-based SOPCA computer; methods and equipment of calibration in the workplace to the 3D measurement in advanced manufacture; new techniques of heat transfer enhancement based on the field coordination principle and their application; mass optical disc database application information system; research and application of new technology and application of steel-concrete composite structures; and research and application of complicated spatial structural steel construction technology of curving slippage, and integral lifting, and more.
By the end of 2004, Tsinghua had won a total of 31 State Natural Science Awards, 93 State Technological Invention Awards, and 194 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.
