Six Tsinghua faculties were elected members of the presidium of the First Session of the 10th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in a meeting on March 2, the day before the opening of the Tenth National People's Congress.

They are: Tsinghua President Wang Dazhong, who is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Wang Guangqian, School of Civil Engineering, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Lu Qiang, Department of Electrical Engineering; Professor Wu Guozhen, Department of Physics; Professor Wu Guanzhong, Academy of Arts and Design; and Professor Ouyang Minggao, Department of Automotive Engineering.
